Alleged Islamic State terrorist Neil Prakash has arrived in Australia to face terror charges in a Victorian court that could land him in jail for life.

He arrived in Australia on the same flight as Tony Haddad, an alleged crime figure extradited from Turkey following an extensive manhunt. “If given the opportunity, Mr Prakash would harm or kill Australians, and our country is a safer place for him having lost his Australian citizenship,” Dutton claimed at the time.

A year later, the Australian government described Prakash as “the principal Australian reaching back from the Middle East” into networks in Melbourne and Sydney.
