A 23-year-old man remains in a serious but stable condition after he ran into the side of a slow-moving, unmarked police vehicle. 9News

About 8.20pm yesterday, police responded to a call from the public of an armed man, believed to be carrying a knife, at a service station on Larapinta Drive.Southern Division Commander, Brad Currie, told media this afternoon, officers doing patrols in two unmarked vehicles saw the man running along Nicker Crescent and attempted to arrest the man.

"When the police officers attempted to apprehend the male, the male ran across and collided with the side of the vehicle," Commander Currie said. Officers administered first aid until St John Paramedics attended and took the man to hospital, before he was flown to Adelaide in a critical condition.
