Airwallex aims to hire 500 workers as tech giants cut jobs hard

The privately owned Australian group, founded in Melbourne, is going against the trend in the technology sector globally, where large players are cutting workforce numbers hard. Airwallex has a current workforce of 1300 people. About 200 of those are based in Australia. The company is eyeing larger premises in Sydney as it expands further.

“I don’t think you can quantify the missed opportunity from cutting back on the talent and skills that could shore up your future,” Mr Zhang said.
