Anna Inkerman fears her family won't get emergency medical help if they need it, after her neighbour died waiting more than two hours for an ambulance. The ambulance service is investigating the death of a woman who waited two-and-a-half hoursHealth Minister says it's inappropriate to link the death to ambulance delays while investigations are underway
"We could actually see her body on her driveway and they moved it onto the grass and it sat there from 12pm at least til 4pm.Ms Inkerman says she is frightened to know how far away help can be. In September and October, at least two Townsville patients waited six-and-a-half hours for an ambulance, while a dozen others waited more than four hours.
Queensland Police said it was not treating the death as suspicious and did not comment on the response time of other agencies.Health Minister Yvette D'Ath said she was aware of the circumstances of the Townsville woman's death.
Totally tragic, imagine collapsing and then dying while waiting for the ambulance to arrive, just horrific for all involved.😥
Horrific!
This occurred last summer in Western Australian wheatbelt. The Ambulance and Police were not authorised to declare person passed. It was a stinking hot day. Terrible for his wife. Heart problem so no open wounds etc😥
If she wasn’t positive for Covid this won’t be counted as a death due to Covid. But that’s what it is. RIP.
wtf wtf wtf wtf
This is not overseas this is here in Australia and it is disgusting. Time our Governments woke up and realised they got it wrong.
Awful. Poor woman.
I guess this is what the PM meant last Friday while at the cricket - 'This is living with the virus.' This women died waiting for an ambulance. She was loved and she would have loved. Keep that in mind every time you hear of another death.
