Eight people are currently in hospital with the virus, and one of those remains in intensive care requiring ventilation.There are currently 237 active cases of the virus in the ACT.
Chief Minister Andrew Barr said the ACT was also moving well towards its vaccination targets, with 77.4 per cent of Canberrans over 12 years old having now received their first dose of a vaccine, and 55.1 per cent considered fully vaccinated. Mr Barr says these numbers showed that a 90 per cent fully vaccinated target for the territory was possible.
"We can now report that 90 per cent of Canberrans aged 40 plus have received a first dose of a vaccine," Mr Barr said. "This is another very strong indication that 90 per cent vaccination across the entire population in the ACT is achievable.More to come.
