'A real game changer': Seven to consume regional affiliate Prime | JennieDuke

Seven West Media and regional television affiliate Prime Media Group have moved to merge in an all-stock transaction that marks the metropolitan network chief executive James Warburton's biggest strategic move since taking on the role in August

"[The deal] gives Prime shareholders the opportunity to be part of a larger broadcasting play," Mr Warburton said. "It represents an exciting opportunity for Prime shareholders to maintain their exposure to the broadcast television industry in a stronger and larger combined group," Mr Hartigan said. "Only scaled media companies have the capacity to compete with the international tech giants now changing the game in Australian media," he said.

Congratulations to the winners, although not sure why the ABC makes the winners gender the main talking point? I've worked with great engineers and scientists both men and women. Their gender had nothing to do with their competence PM wanted women getting most of the awards; remember what happened with the CEO position of the ABC? I've never met a mathematician who needed to use their genitals to count. 🙄
