Warringah voters are unsure about Gladys Berejiklian, despite Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison entreating the former NSW premier to contest the seat at the next federal election | ameliamcguiree

Warringah voters are unsure about Gladys Berejiklian, despite Tony Abbott and Scott Morrison entreating the former NSW premier to contest the seat at the next federal election.

However, he said it’s the wrong time for her to move into federal politics in light of being the subject of an inquiry by the Independent Commission Against Corruption. “Ms Berejiklian has a lot of support in this electorate, she was always in the forefront during the pandemic and while I’m not for or against her, personally I think she did a great job on that front,” Mr Dudalski said.

“I think if she represents the Liberal Party a wedge will develop around the place of a federal ICAC and I think she’ll be better placed to stand next election,” Mr Berry said. She said Ms Steggall is a better representative for Warringah at this stage. “I know a lot of people criticise her for only caring about the environment, but I think environment policy is the future and more politicians need to follow,” she said.

“It was inappropriate. I think people such as the Prime Minister should be focusing on reforming ICAC not just weighing in on an investigation that hasn’t even been completed yet. ”

ameliamcguiree Zali Steggall is a great fit for our electorate. A conservative who cares about the environment. Let Gladys contest the Federal Electorate in her own area if she wants to enter Federal politics, they like her there. Unless of course it’s just Scott’s desperate power grab.

ameliamcguiree GladysB doesn't even live in the electorate. A complete blow-in with an ICAC stench.

Berejiklian backing ignites federal campaign fight on corruptionLiberals are split on the plan to vault the former NSW premier into the seat of Warringah in the hope of toppling independent Zali Steggall, with some thinking it will widen the election row over a stalled proposal to create a national integrity commission. CroweDM Gee what could be problematic about failing on election commitment to create and anti corruption body and then preselecting a disgraced politician? CroweDM Rubbish, it's just a dead cat CroweDM How many other politicians, both Labor and Liberal, have had their careers ruined by ICAC findings, without any comment from government about the validity of the decision. This is treating the people of Australia with contempt
