ACT health authorities are urging Canberra residents not to travel to hotspot areas of Sydney following a coronavirus outbreak."I do want to stress that NSW Health is implementing a strong public health response to the cases that have been identified in NSW," Ms Stephen-Smith told reporters today.
"But at the moment, we are asking Canberrans to please avoid travelling to these areas unless it is absolutely urgent to do so." ACT recorded no new COVID-19 cases in the last 12 hours. The region has a total of 113 cases, five of which remain active."We know that the outbreaks in Victoria and NSW are of real concern and we know that this is making people in our community quite anxious," Ms Stephen-Smith said.
"I want to assure everyone that we remain in a good position to respond to any new case of COVID-19 here in the ACT. We have a very experienced team of contact tracers. "We're closely monitoring what's happening in NSW and Victoria and taking action where needed to protect our community."
