Over the past couple of days, there’s been a few independent candidates across Australia, announcing their run for federal politics. “I’ve always had a problem with the badge of being an independent because you really don’t get armed with any information about what that person truly stands for with an in-depth before you cast your vote,” Ms Stoker told Sky News host Rowan Dean.

“And it means, ultimately, that instead of voting for a major party … instead you go and roll the dice entirely and go for someone that has no accountability. “But if you delve a little bit deeper into who stands behind these cashed up, shiny looking, independent, or so-called independent candidates, you tend to find the same names, the same faces, the same dollars.”

Protest vote by its very definition sends a strong signal against temporary leaders. Get it?

We don’t get “armed with any information” from any political party. Independent or not. You all bullshit us, hide your actual intentions, say one thing and mean another, outright lie to us or just say what you think we want to hear. Very few of you are worth voting for.

Maybe folks could have a quick glance at a Rennick or Christensen and realise it’s not a bad idea to go independent.

These so-called independents are all Labor aligned. They only contest LNP held seats.
