Sky News host Chris Kenny says “sensible voices” are now being heard in the debate concerning the Andrew Thorburn Essendon saga and exposing the attitude of “Christians need not apply”.

Mr Kenny said people like Olympic champion and Australian Sports Commission chief Kieren Perkins and former World Vision chief Reverend Tim Costello have explained activists are “trying to make these issues far too polarised and simplistic”.

“Still, this call for nuance, or putting blame on both sides in this case, is a little weak because the fact that Thorburn has been wronged is absolutely clear,” he said. “He has been barred from a job in a way that would create outrage and intervention if it happened to a person of another faith. “And much of the media want to make this a simple matter of demonising and oversimplifying complex religious and moral beliefs in various Christian churches.”

Disgusting. I haven't read the article, but judging someone off their beliefs instead of their actions is disgraceful, distasteful and immoral.

Kenny should get his heating checked.

Essendon CEO’s resignation ‘rings the bell for those with traditional values’Liberal Senator Alex Antic says Essendon CEO Andrew Thorburn's resignation “rings the bell” for those with traditional values to “understand what we’re up against”. Mr Thorburn has accused the media and leaders of the community of judging him based on his faith, arguing they made it clear his association with the church is unacceptable. “Time for sitting back and thinking someone else will fix this is over,” Mr Antic told Sky News host Chris Kenny. “We need people with strong conservative views, everyday Australians, … involved with politics from now on, and that means getting involved in politics, registering to vote, making sure people who are pre-selected who will stand for these values … get through. “Politics can fix this stuff, it just needs to muscle up, conservatives need to muscle up.” Gods children 🤣 Seriously Alex, you're just another dopey politician. Just shut up, if you can't wrap your head around the fact that this is about job security, not some vague ideological encampment. Honestly... Because Thorburn sure was showing those traditional values as CEO of NAB.

Putin’s war has become a ‘political problem’Russian President Vladimir Putin is finding it very hard to dress up his “failing” war in Ukraine as a success, Strategic Insights Australia’s Michael Shoebridge says. “Putin has a failed mobilisation back home. He’s now got a political problem,” Mr Shoebridge told Sky News host Chris Kenny. “For him to use nuclear weapons now would be him using it in a failed vanity project.” The War is yet to come. The west spent 20 years on Afghanistan. This is nothing. You can make a silk purse out of a pigs ear. Sucked in fuckpurin

‘List of catastrophes’ for UK Prime Minster Liz TrussFormer foreign minister Alexander Downer says UK Prime Minister Liz Truss has never been a “popular public figure,” nor was she well known before assuming the top job. “She came into office in controversial circumstances with the resignation of Boris Johnson, the forced resignation of Boris Johnson,” he told Sky News host Chris Kenny. “Secondly, she introduced an unfunded budget … just to include tax cuts.” Mr Downer said the budget also contained a large spending package, which was “designed to undercut the price of energy” – which is estimated to cost up to £60 billion, or $AU105 billion, in a single year. “That, needless to say, led to uproar, and then to add insult to injury, it was obvious that the Conservative Party’s parliamentary members weren’t going to support the increase at the abolition of the highest rate of tax,” he said. “It’s just been a list of catastrophes, and it’s hard to see how this is all going to end up happily.”

Labor should take a ‘sensible approach’ to upcoming October budgetShadow Finance Minister Jane Hume says the most important thing the government can do for the economy is to ensure it takes a “sensible approach to the upcoming October budget”. “And that it makes sure that its fiscal policy is in line with monetary policy,” she told Sky News Australia. She said the Opposition hopes the government takes “a sensible approach” when they release their budget this month. “Particularly to that high spending agenda that Labor took to the election.” The present (much-reduced) parliamentary Liberal party is unfit for even the purpose of opposition. It’s lacking in depth of talent, short on women, and with more people than it can afford who are embarrassments, taking up seats that should be better filled. 🤣🤣🤣Then the best thing this Government can do is, don't take advice from the Coalition Budget wreckers.
