NSW Labor MP Tania Mihailuk says the vandalism of a St Kilda Captain Cook statue only causes unnecessary grief.

“Vandalism is vandalism. If you want to make a point, by all means, have a peaceful protest but this just causes unnecessary grief,” Ms Mihailuk told Sky News host Chris Smith.

“It means that the rate payers have to pay for the clean-up and some poor council worker, instead of having a day off, is forced to clean the statue.

I’m not sure who’s feeling the grief? Maybe the council workers who have to clean it?
