Practicing your culture is and should be your right, but culture varies. Where your cultural practices may be completely acceptable in some places, they may not be in others. You need to fit the culture, not the other way around. The club has the right to determine it's culture.

I worked with Moale's mother Ranu in Darwin. Their PNG heritage defines & shapes every aspect of their lives. This is nothing short of abominable. It is outright discrimination.
Free market, club owners rules. If club owner wants to loose customers, customers have a choice to go elsewhere. Government should not get involved in these matters at all.

Back in the 80’s I was banned entering clubs for having dyed hair & different clothing to the “norm” ( and really, it was not that weird! )

Why have a rule against facial tattoos? Are tatoos on the neck or piercings OK? Earrings? Doesn't matter how you excuse it, it's just intolerance of other people's choices. Personally I'm not real keen on tattoos. But that's just my choice. You remember, freedom of choice.

I would be suspicious if the papuan background story, but it is the law in qld that people who have face tattoos can be refused service. You can wear a mask but no tattoos, which are basically a personal QR code.
